SHAH ALAM – Pakatan Rakyat’s manifesto for the 14th General Election (GE14) unveiled here tonight outlines five core thrusts encompassing 60 pledges if the opposition pact wins the election.
The five thrusts are alleviating the cost of living; instituting political reforms, accelerate economic growth in a fair and equitable manner; restore the status of Sabah and Sarawak as per the Malaysia Agreement 1963 and build a Malaysia that is inclusive, moderate and respected on the world stage.
Themed “Membina Negara Memenuhi Harapan” (Buliding a nation that fulfills the hopes of the people) , it was launched by Pakatan Harapan chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, who is also president of PKR..
It also outlined what the pact would do for Felda settlers, the Indian community, women,youths and senior citizens.
Also present were Parti Pribumi Bersatu (PPBM) president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) president Mohamad Sabu, Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Azmin Ali and DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng. Dr Mahathir is also chairman of PPBM.
GE14 has to be called by August this year. – BERNAMA
