IPOH – The Perak football squad retained the Al-Ikhsan brand for the fourth consecutive year as its team jersey to face the 2018 Malaysia League.
Perak Football Association (FAFA) president Datuk Seri Abdul Puhat Mat Nayan said The Bos Gaurus squad had used the Al-Ikhsan brand jersey since 2015.
“We can use various international sports brands and so on but for me the quality of the jersey (Al Ihsan) is good enough and is comfortable to the players,” he said.
He was speaking to reporters after the launch of the Perak Jersey and the introduction of the 2018 Perak players here last night, which was officiated by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir with about 5,000 supporters of The Bos Gaurus in attendance.
The jersey comes in two different colours, yellow for home matches and red for home away matches and would also be used for the President’s Cup, Youth Cup and Perak futsal squad for this season.
Meanwhile he was confident the five import players of The Bos Gaurus squad could be a a key factor in boosting the team’s performance this season.
The five import players are Gilmar Jose da Silva and Leandro Dos Santos who are retained from the previous lineup while the three newcomers are Wander Luiz, Misagh Bahadoran and Robert Cornthwaite.
Ahmad Puhat, who is also Perak state secretary, said the selection of the import players for this season was carefully undertaken based on the assessment of head coach Mehmet Durakovic. – BERNAMA
