KUALA LUMPUR – Wangsa Maju District Police Headquarters today disposed off gambling machines worth RM3.5 million which were confiscated during ‘Operasi Dadu’ since 2014 until December last year.
Wangsa Maju District Police Chief, Supt Mohd Roy Suhaimi Sarif said the items seized were among the goods confiscated during 467 raids carried out during the period namely 2,117 computer gambling machines and cash amounting to RM55,000.
“The goods disposed off today had received court order approval,” he said at a media conference, here today.
Mohd Roy said 855 individuals had been detained.
In another development, the police would record a statement from a female teacher, who was a stab victim last Monday, in the near future to assist in the investigation.
“The victim’s husband had informed that his wife is now in a stable condition and is prepared to give her statement to the police,” said Mohd Roy.
The media had previously reported that Khariah Hashim, 49, was seriously injured after being stabbed by her son who was believed to be suffering a mental problem at a house in Jalan Rejang, Setapak. – BERNAMA
