Opposition Fears PBS

in Latest

PAPAR- The fact that the opposition is especially critical of Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) and viciously attacks the party and its leaders at every opportunity, shows that they view the party as a force to be reckoned with.

PBS secretary-general Datuk Johnny Mositun in stating this said otherwise, they would not bother with PBS.

“Why do they keep attacking party president Tan Sri (Joseph) Pairin Kitingan so harshly, calling for him to retire?”They are scared, that’s why. And even more scared now that Tan Sri Pairin is contesting in the 14th

General Election (GE14).

“They know that loyalty to Pairin means loyalty to PBS, which you all have shown and it keeps our party strong. Use that strength and unity to keep Barisan Nasional (BN) strong,” Mositun said during a dialogue session with BN candidates and local residents at Limbahau here.

In the event attended by Papar BN chairman Datuk Abdul Rahim Ismail, who is also the incumbent Pantai Manis assemblyman and incumbent Papar Member of Parliament Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin, Mositun urged PBS members and supporters in the Kawang and Pantai Manis state constituencies under Papar to stand together and show solidarity to ensure BN comes out in full force.

He said the PBS divisions there are united and ready to prove that PBS is a strong and valuable member of the BN coalition.

“We will go all out and vote en bloc for a big BN victory come polling day. We will ensure bigger victory margins for BN in Papar and silence the critics,” he said.

While stressing that BN would ensure continuity and stability for Sabah, he added the coalition’s track record is there for all to see.

“Over the last 15 years we have seen unprecedented development and economic growth under the guidance of our Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman.

“Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, has also acknowledged the past neglect of Sabah and has done much to make amends.

“He has increased Federal funding for Sabah, opened the door to talks on the Malaysia Agreement 1963, and has pledged devolution of Federal powers for us to manage our own affairs.

“Under such circumstances PBS will not betray his faith in Sabah as a BN ‘fixed deposit’. Never,” Mositun said.- New Straits Times
