ALOR SETAR – The Sultan Abdul Halim Airport (LTSAH) here is operating as usual even though one flight from Alor Setar to Kuala Lumpur has to be cancelled due to the haze.
LTSAH manager Puteh Ramli said it involved an Air Asia flight at 8.35 am today.
“Only one flight has been cancelled so far. The airport’s runway is also operating as usual and the visibility is still at a good level,” he said when contacted by Bernama here today.
Meanwhile an Air Asia spokesman, when contacted, confirmed the flight cancellation from the city to Kuala Lumpur was due to the haze.
According to the Department of Environment (DOE), the Air Pollutant Index (API) readings in Alor Setar and Sungai Petani as of 2 pm were at 145 and Langkawi (149). – BERNAMA
