IPOH – International Trade and Industry Minister II Datuk Seri Ong Ka Chuan (pic) has been dropped from Perak Barisan Nasional’s line-up for GE14.
The incumbent Tanjung Malim MP is among a number of former state representatives dropped.
Perak MCA chairman Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon, who is the incumbent Chenderiang state assemblyman, will contest the Tanjung Malim parliamentary seat.
Others who were dropped included incumbent Parit MP Datuk Mohd Zaim Abu Hasan, Trong assemblyman Datuk Dr Zabri Abd Wahid and Kampung Gajah assemblyman Abdullah Fauzi Ahmad Razali.
As expected Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir will also contest the Lumut parliamentary and Pangkor state seats.
Incumbent Belanja assemblyman Datuk Mohd Nizar Zakaria will contest the Parit parliamentary seat while State Secretary Datuk Seri Abdul Puhat Mat Nayan is contesting the Parit Buntar parliamentary seat.
The other new faces contesting parliamentary seats are Gerakan Youth chief Tan Keng Liang (Taiping), Bukit Gantang UMNO division chief Datuk Syed Abu Hussin Jafiz Syed Abdul Fasal (Bukit Gantang) and Pang Chok Keng (Beruas). – The Star Online
