Office Chair Hurled From Flat Claims Student’s Life

KUALA LUMPUR — A Form Three student died after being struck by an office chair believed to have been hurled from the upper floor of a flat at Blok 102 Projek Perumahan Rakyat Seri Pantai in Pantai Dalam, last night.

Brickfields District Police chief ACP Ruslan Khalid confirmed the incident when contacted.

He said the victim had been identified as S. Sathiwaran, a form three student at a secondary school in Petaling Jaya.

“The incident is believed to have happened just as the victim was about to enter the covered area of the flat near the staircase with his mother.

“The victim suffered serious head injuries and died at the scene; his mother escaped unharmed,” he said.

Roslan said the case was being investigated under Section 304A of the Penal Code – causing death by negligence. — BERNAMA
