KUALA LUMPUR – PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar said today she may meet the police tomorrow over her meeting with the daughter of the former head of the Sulu militant group that intruded into Sabah in 2013.
She said she had been contacted by the police from the Bukit Aman Police headquarters.
“Most probably, tomorrow will be my meeting with the police,” she told reporters at the lobby of Parliament House.
Asked about a motion to be tabled in the Dewan Rakyat for her to be referred to the Rights and Privileges Committee, Nurul Izzah said there was nothing to hide about the meeting that took place in Manila between her and Jacel Kiram.
“Furthermore, the meeting took place outside the Dewan Rakyat. I shall face it (reference to rights and privileges committee) with a clear conscience,” she said.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said had said in a statement that a motion would be tabled to have Nurul Izzah referred to the committee.
Jacel had uploaded four photographs of herself with Nurul Izzah on her Facebook account. The meeting did not go down well with the people of Sabah.
Nurul Izzah said she was considering suing those who had branded her as a traitor to the country. – BERNAMA
