PETALING JAYA – National shooter Nur Ayuni Farhana Abdul Halim gunned down two National records in the women’s 10m Air Rifle individual event, once in the qualifying and again in the final of the 2015 Tun Hanif at the Subang Shooting Range, here today.
Nur Ayuni from Pahang accumulated 210.3 points for her three attempts to erase her own mark of 208.2 which was set four months ago to beat seasoned campaigner Nur Suryani Mohd Taibi from the Armed Forces (205.8) and Nur Izazi Rosli from Kuala Lumpur (183.1) points.
In the morning Nur Ayuni had set a new National record in the same event during qualifying by accumulating 418.2 points over six attempts to beat Nur Suryani mark of 417.3 points which was set last year.
Nur Ayuni when met by reporters hoped she can continue her good form and performance in the Asian Shooting Championships in Kuwait from Nov 1-12, and earn a ticket to the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics in Brazil.
“I am happy with my performance since I had not trained for a month and had missed the World Cup in Azerbaijan, last month. Next month I will be taking part in the National Shooting Championships to prepare for Kuwait,” she said.
Her good performance also helped Pahang clinch the team event gold when she teamed up with Faezah Abd Aziz and Nur Fadhilah Ahmad Kamal to collect 1,228.9 points, beating Selangor’s Nur Syahirah Zulkifli, Nur Syahirah Ahmad Nadzri and Juain Iznil Zamir who managed 1,216.1 points. – BERNAMA
