KOTA KINABALU – The number of flood victims evacuated to three temporary relief centres in Kota Belud dropped to 386 as at 12 noon today.
According to a statement from the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM), another centre, namely the Dewan Sekolah Menengah Agama Tun Said was closed at 11 am when the water level began to recede.
With the closure of the relief centre, only three temporary evacuation centres for the flood victims in Kota Belud remained open namely the Dewan SMK Taun Gusi 2, Dewan Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Taun Gusi, and Dewan SMK Taun Gusi 1.
Meanwhile, 34 victims from nine families from Penampang were evacuated to the temporary relief centre at the Dewan Taman Sri Kepayan when their homes were affected by a landslide following heavy rain and strong winds blowing since last week. – BERNAMA
