KUALA LUMPUR – The 31-year-old Norhasima Kadir of Johor emerged as the winner in the finals of the Bintang Klasik 2014 singing competition held at the Perdana Auditorium, Angkasapuri here tonight.
Singing the late Sharifah Aini’s ‘Burung Pungguk’ and ‘Perasaan Hati’, Norhasima defeated seven other finalists to bag the cash prize of RM20,000, a Modenas motorcycle, certificate and a trophy.
The prizes were presented by Communication and Multimedia Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Abdul Rahim Mohamad Radzi.
Meanwhile, Tuan Izzat Izzuddin Tuan Abd Aziz, 26, from Terengganu took the second place and received cash prize of RM15,000, a Modenas motorcycle, certificate and trophy, while 23-year-old Nur Athirah Abdul Rahim from Selangor finished third and received cash of RM10,000, as well as a Modenas motorcycle, certificate and trophy.
Mohd Khairul Nizam Kamarozaman, 28, from Selangor was named the winner for the best perfomance and received RM3,500 in fashion voucher from renowned fashion designer Wan Huzairil.
Speaking to reporters later, Norhasima said she was so happy and grateful to have finally won the competition this year after trying her luck but only managed to reach the semifinals in 2007, 2008 and 2009.
“Syukur Alhamdulillah (All praises be to Allah), it was indeed my turn to shine despite the tough competition given by all the other finalists,” she said. – BERNAMA
