KUALA LUMPUR -There is no ‘touch and go’ attitude in the implementation of the Family and Community Empowerment (FACE) programme to empower families and communities in attaining common prosperity.
Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim said instead the community concerned would be given guidance for about one year in the implementation of various programmes based on the actual local needs or problems identified.
“The community concerned gets guidance on an ongoing basis from the National Family Development and Population Board (LPPKN) in the implementation of intervention programmes after they are implemented, suitable valuation methods will be implemented in the community to assess its effectiveness.
“Continuous monitoring of intervention programmes are conducted and will be evaluated through various methods such as surveys, group discussions with the community and observers,” she said when replying to Anuar Abd Manap (BN-Sekijang) at the Dewan Rakyat here today.
Anuar wanted to know the effectiveness of these programmes in addressing local community issues.
Rohani said the evaluation programme was important to help other family members in the community to solve local problems such as hygiene, family and relationships within the community.
In her media conference, Rohani said about 6,000 to 7,000 registered counsellors under her ministry were ready to implement various programme based on the National Blue Ocean Strategy (NBOS) with other agencies, including FACE.
“This programme is carried out jointly with various parties, including the Education Ministry, Health Ministry and Islamic Affairs Department to find ways and not point fingers in addressing problems related to the community,” she said. – BERNAMA
