IPOH – Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir today said the state government need not present a report on Menteri Besar Incorporated (MB Inc) during the current state legislative assembly.
He said the assembly sitting was specified for Budget 2016 and other enactments.
Government agency reports such as on State Economic Development Corporation, State Agricultural Development Corporation, Perak Water Board, State Secretary Incorporated and Institut Darul Ridzuan would not be tabled, he said.
“The opposition leader is confused and the opposition’s intention, by urging us to table the MB Inc report is to divert the people’s attention from their problems. They had been plotting to pick on MB Inc from the very beginning.
“Even before the assembly session started, they had already been plotting and acted shamelessly by flashing placards after the tabling of Budget 2016 yesterday,” he told a press conference today.
He said this shortly after opposition leader Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin raised the MB Inc issue when debating the Budget 2016 in the assembly today.
Zambry said it was a game played by the opposition to create a negative public perception towards the state government.
“Yesterday, Ngeh (Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham) made another statement, saying, ‘Who is the deceiver, it is either the menteri besar or the CEO of MB Inc…(actually) none of us is, but Ngeh is the deceiver and who manipulated (this issue).
“As a lawyer, Ngeh knows that we cannot reveal to the public all the terms in the agreements with stakeholders…I am very disappointed with his attempt to provoke sentiments of hatred,” he said referring to the Sitiawan assemblyman.
Zambry said it was a psychological game by the opposition “to create deep public hatred as what they did through the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) issue”.
“We do not want their equating MB Inc to 1MDB, whether it is true or false is secondary; what is important to the opposition is to create and play on the issue,” he said.
Zambry said the opposition should study the 11th Malaysia Plan and enlighten themselves on the mega projects being carried out in Perak.
He said the state government was also considering to take legal action against Ngeh for his allegations. – BERNAMA
