SUNGAI PETANI – Former national and Kedah player, Nidzam Adzha Yusoff, has been named as caretaker coach of the The Red Hawks squad (Kedah).
Kedah Football Association (KFA) president Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah said yesterday was the last day for Cheng Hoe as Kedah head coach.
“The decision to release Cheng Hoe was made after considering all angles, We want to give him the opportunity to gain experience at national level,” he told reporters after attending a dialogue session on National Transformation 2050 (TN50) at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Kedah in Merbok, near here last night.
Nidzam’s first test is the FA Cup first leg semi-final between Kedah and Terengganu at Darul Aman Stadium in Alor Setar tonight.
Cheng Hoe received a letter of offer as assistant coach of the national team (Harimau Malaya) from the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) on April 5. – BERNAMA
