Nicki Minaj broke into the hip-hop scene following her bullet-speed rap delivery and outlandish sense of style, but who knew the 32-year-old could also inspire an international high fashion campaign?
While stylewatchers agree that her personal style has evolved over the years, Nicki continues to evoke a more sophisticated image as the new face of Roberto Cavalli’s 2015 Spring/Summer collection.
Cutting a demure look, Nicki poses gracefully in Cavalli’s signature safari-inspired prints and contrasting florals.
The campaign, which was shot by acclaimed Italian photographer Francesco Carrozini, shows a side of the usually-ghetto fabulous Nicki her fans had never seen before.
Acclaimed designer Roberto Cavalli said of his new choice of model: “I chose Nicki Minaj because she embodies the exuberant and modern femininity of the Cavalli woman.”
With this campaign, Nicki joins the ranks of female pop stars who’ve become the faces for high-end brands; notable examples include Rihanna for Balmain and Lady Gaga for Versace.MYNEWSHUB
