ONE Direction have finally addressed news that they’ll be taking a break from the band in 2016.
After millions of fans were left heartbroken by reports, the band – made up of Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall – remained relatively silent on social media until now.
On Sunday it was reported the four-piece will be going on an extended break in 2016 and won’t be touring their fifth album.
Confirming the news, Irish charmer Niall Horan assured fans they won’t be splitting up, but said they will be taking a break.
Writing to his 23 million Twitter followers, the singer shared: “Ok so lots of rumours going round. We are not splitting up, but we will be taking a well earned break at some point next year.
“Don’t worry though, we still have lots we want to achieve! Can’t wait for you to hear all the new music we have for you and to perform some new songs as the tour continues. Love you all.”
Louis later added: “Your support is truly indescribable! It’s just a break 🙂 we’re not going anywhere!! Promise.”
The stars reportedly held a secret meeting in London last weekend and decided not to tour their fifth album.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “The guys have been together for five years, which is an incredible run for any boyband.
“They fully deserve to have at least a year to work on their own projects. There is absolutely no bad blood between them and they are all 100 per cent behind the decision.”
One Direction’s last live concert will reportedly be on October 31 at Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield.
Meanwhile, it’s been reported that Harry Styles could have his sights set on Hollywood.
Harry’s friend Lance Bass told The Sun: “Harry is going to live in Hollywood, his house is in the same neighbourhood as Lisa. It will be amazing for Harry.
“I think he will do really well. Harry is a huge star and household name, someone grandmothers know. – Mirror
