KUALA LUMPUR – DAP advisor Lim Kit Siang said today the establishment of a new opposition pact minus PAS is still under discussion.
Talks were going on among Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), the DAP and Gerakan Harapan Baru (GHB) or the New Hope Movement, he said.
“There have been discussions. With the end of Pakatan Rakyat, there is a need for a new vehicle to carry the hopes and aspirations of the people in the general election.
“We have been having discussions about a new vehicle which may be called Pakatan Baharu, Pakatan Rakyat 2.0 or Harapan Rakyat. It is in the process of being formed,” he told reporters at the Parliament Aidilfitri open house.
Lim said PAS would not be involved in the new opposition pact, alleging that the party was the main cause of the “death” of Pakatan Rakyat.
GHB, set up by several so-called progressive PAS leaders, is seen as the likely replacement for PAS in the new pact after the DAP and PAS parted ways. – BERNAMA
