PUTRAJAYA – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has launched an official mobile application to better connect with the public.

The app is available to Android and iOS users, and can be downloaded for free on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

“The Official Najib Razak app brings you the latest announcements and social media updates all in one app. This app is specifically designed for the convenience of users and to enable interaction with the Prime Minister of Malaysia,” read the app’s description.

Access to Najib’s other social media platforms is easy via the app. With just a click, users are directed to his Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Flickr and blog.

His photos on Flickr are mostly work-related and his latest posts include photos at the Hari Sukan Negara 2016 launch and the official visit of Iran president Dr Hassan Rouhani to Malaysia.

The app also states that users can “participate in campaigns and polls” although there isn’t one running currently.

His Instagram page has more casual photos and will show you his personal side.

Najib’s latest post on the photo-sharing app is a close-up of his pet cat “Simba”.

“When we take photos of Simba, it knows how to pose in style. It looks fierce, but is actually cute and pampered,” wrote Najib in the post.

There is also a special tab named “Track Record”, where Najib’s political career is archived in a timeline style, from 1976 when he became the youngest MP in Malaysia.

The timeline also shows old photos of, among others, Najib with Malaysia’s legendary badminton players in the late 1980s, during the time he was Culture, Youth and Sports Minister.

With the national budget day coming, there is also a #Bajet2017 section, where users are able to give their suggestions and feedback on the budget.

Najib is active on social media. His Twitter is followed by close to three million users and the Prime Minister’s Facebook account has over three million likes. – The Star Online
