PETALING JAYA: Pictures of a dead cat tied to a lamp post in Klang have sparked anger among netizens on social media.
Taman Klang Jaya resident Wong Che Wey, 32, found the cat hanging from the post outside his house and took picture and shared them on his Facebook on Wednesday.
He also included pictures of a hole he dug to bury the cat.
The post has been shared more than 5,000 times as of 2.30pm Thursday.
“Living in a sick neighbourhood where the strays being tortured to death,” Wong wrote.
It is not known if the cat was dead or alive before it was strung up to the pole.
Wong told The Star that he found the cat hanging from the pole in front of his house after coming back from work Wednesday evening.
“There were flies around the cat’s mouth and head, so what we decided was to quickly bury it,” he said.
Wong, a long time resident in the neighbourhood, said the cat was a regular stray and was friendly with locals.
He said he never saw anything of its kind before, and was saddened by the act.
He added that the cat recently gave birth to a litter of kittens which were being cared for by a neighbour.
