SEREMBAN – The Negeri Sembilan football team will be known as NS Matrix next season, said Negeri Sembilan Football Association (PBNS) president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.
Mohamad, who is also Negeri Sembilan menteri besar, said the move was as preparation to the Football Association of Malaysia’s (FAM) plan to privatise the Malaysian Footbal League starting 2016.
“This is a start towards the privatisation of PBNS. Matrix Concept Bhd will be our main sponsor.
“With the move, PBNS will only focus on policy and football development,” he told reporters after introducing Negeri Sembilan players at Centre Court Paroi, near here today.
Mohamad said PBNS has signed 15 new players and only retained seven players including the foreigners for the 2015 Premier League season.
“Our target is to qualify for the Super League in 2016. The confidence is based on the experienced and reputation of players who played in the Super League,” he added.
Negeri Sembilan has opted for K. Devan as head coach with Ahmad Osman as his assistant while Datuk Ab. Hassan Ghani was appointed as team manager. – BERNAMA
