KUALA LUMPUR: For the first time, a multimedia presentation was included in the president’s policy speech at the launch of the Umno General Assembly.
Umno President Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s speech at the assembly featured a multimedia presentation, in line with his era of leadership in the world of digital hyperconnectivity.
The display of videos, diagrams and slides clearly touched the emotions and minds of the 2,752 delegates who were present at the assembly.
This included a video on the Merdeka cheer by the first prime minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj, and the armed intrusion by terrorists from Southern Philippines in the waters of Sabah’s east coast in February 2013.
Najib’s speech, which was aired live on local television stations, also showed the two airline tragedies which drew world attention namely the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight MH370 on March 8 and the shooting down of MAS flight MH17 over Ukraine on July 17.
The Finance Minister also used graphic pictures to explain the country’s economic achievements and Malaysia’s role as facilitator in the peace talk to end the conflict in the Philippines and Thailand. – Bernama
