SEMENYIH: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak visited the soon-to-be-opened Lingkaran Lekas-Ecohill Link that will cut traffic congestion by 50%.
The Prime Minister arrived at about 5.20pm yesterday and was briefed by S.P. Setia acting president and CEO Datuk Khor Chap Jen on the Setia Ecohill township development.
The new link, which is scheduled to be opened by the end of the month, will benefit about 52,000 residents of Semenyih, Rinching and the Beranang area in terms of quicker travel between Kajang and Rinching/Beranang by 15 to 30 minutes.
â€œConstruction began in 2013 and took about 20 months to complete,â€ Khor said.
He said about half the 75,000 vehicles plying Jalan Semenyih were expected to use the new link to bypass Semenyih town.
The total project cost worked out to RM80mil.
The link consists of a dual two-lane urban highway stretching over 2.7km with provision for a future third lane. â€“ Bernama.
