KOTA KINABALU – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today visited the site of the fifth work package of the Pan Borneo Highway stretching 11.7 kilometres along Jalan Papar-Donggongon in Papar.
He was accompanied by Sabah Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman, Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof and Sabah deputy chief ministers Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan and Datuk Seri Yahya Hussin.
The scope of the Papar-Donggongon package involves upgrading the existing road to a four-lane highway and constructing a new bridge over Sungai Simpudu. Construction under the package began on July 31 last year and is expected to be completed on Sept 15, 2019.
Prior to the visit, Najib opened the 32nd annual delegates conference of Parti Bersatu Sabah in Penampang and then launched the sixth work package of the Pan Borneo Highway at the Putatan District Council field. – BERNAMA
