DUBAI – A bilateral meeting with Kazakhstan’s President, Nursultan Nazarbayev, start off the first day of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s working visit here.
His presence in the most populated city in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is in conjunction with the 10th World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) at the Madinat Jumeirah until Oct 30.
Najib is also expected to be granted an audience by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Also, the Patron of the WIEF Foundation, he will then deliver his special address at the opening of the three-day Forum today and themed, “Innovative Partnerships for Economic Growth”.
Following the opening ceremony, Najib will proceed to the Leaders Luncheon before witnessing an exchange of memorandums of understanding and agreements between Malaysian companies and their business partners.
The Prime Minister will be confered the Global Islamic Finance Award (GIFA) and be interviewed by international media later in the afternoon.
To round-up his first day, Najib and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor are expected to attend the 10th WIEF Gala Dinner at the Madina Arena, Madinat Jumeirah Conference Centre.
The WIEF is organised by the WIEF Foundation in collaboration with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Najib arrived on Sunday for the working visit and is scheduled to leave on Oct 30.
This is his second visit to the UAE. He had in May, been to Abu Dhabi, the UAE capital. – Bernama
