KUALA LUMPUR – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has assured the public that he will continue to oversee flood relief efforts despite coming down with an E.coli infection after making visits to flood-affected areas in the country.
“Saya akan terus memantau operasi bantuan banjir dari rumah. (I will continue to monitor flood relief operations from home),†he said on Monday via his official Twitter account @NajibRazak.
Najib tweeted in response to a tweet by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) informing the public about Najib’s condition.
Earlier, the PMO tweeted that Najib had received doctor’s treatment and would be taking a short break before resuming his duties.

(Prime Minister @NajibRazak was infected by E.coli during his visits to flood-affected areas. Doctors have advised for him to rest. He will return to his duties as soon as possible),†the tweet read.
E.coli or the Escherichia coli (E.coli) is a bacteria that is widely found in the human intestine.
Although most strains are harmless, certain strains can cause mild to severe food poisoning symptoms.
