KUALA LUMPUR – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak was granted an audience by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Ruler of Dubai, in Dubai today.
Najib in his Twitter account said it was a pleasure to meet Sheikh Mohammed during his visit for the 10th World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF).
“Malaysia recognises Dubai’s significant contribution towards advancing the global Islamic economy.
“It is hoped that with Dubai as the host for the 10th WIEF, the forum would be able to reach its objective in assisting the economic development of Muslim countries and communities through discussions based on the concept of innovative partnerships,” he said.
Najib arrived in UAE last Sunday for a working visit in conjunction with the 10th World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) at the Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai. The forum ends on Oct 30.
This is his second visit to the UAE. He had in May, been to Abu Dhabi, the UAE capital. – BERNAMA
