Najib Performs Friday Prayers At One Of Beijing’s Oldest Mosque

BEIJING – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today took a break from his hectic programme to perform Friday prayers at Dongzhimen Mosque, one of the famous and oldest mosque here.

Najib, who is here for an official visit since Monday, presented his personal donation to the imam of the mosque, Wang Chong-en after Friday prayers.

Based on reports, the mosque was originally built in the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368), but the existing building was built during the late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) before being rebuilt and moved to Dongzhimenwai, Dongcheng District. – BERNAMA
