PUTRAJAYA – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today received a courtesy call from Indonesia’s Partai Nasional Demokrat (NasDem) delegation at Perdana Putra, here.
The 13-member delegation was led by NasDem leader Surya Paloh during the 30-minute meeting.
Also present were Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor and UMNO Supreme Council member Datuk Irmohizam Ibrahim.
The NasDem delegation then called on Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin at his office, also in Perdana Putra.
The three-day NasDem party delegation’s visit to Malaysia from May 10 is the first since the party was formed in 2011, and it was also invited to attend UMNO’s 69th anniversary celebration dinner in the federal capital last night.
NasDem was one of the political parties which contested in the Indonesian General Election in 2014.
When met by Bernama, Irmohizam said both meetings today were aimed at finding the best approach to strengthen ties and cooperation between NasDem and UMNO.
“The meetings also discussed current issues and challenges,” he added. – BERNAMA
