Najib Leaves For Myanmar After APEC

BEIJING – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has departed for Myanmar after attending the two-day 22nd APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting (AELM) which began Monday.

Najib and his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, left in a special aircraft from the Beijing International Airport this afternoon.

On hand to send them off were Deputy Foreign Minister Datuk Hamzah Zainudin and Malaysian Ambassador to China Datuk Iskandar Sarudin.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the prime minister held bilateral meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Chief Executive C Y Leung and China’s Prime Minister Li Keqiang.

Najib also met Russian President Vladimir Putin and New Zealand Prime Minister John Key.

The two-day AELM themed ‘Shaping the Future Through Asia-Pacific Partnership’ was chaired by Xi and attended by leaders from the forum’s 21 member countries. – BERNAMA
