BEIJING – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has departed for Myanmar after attending the two-day 22nd APEC Economic Leadersâ€™ Meeting (AELM) which began Monday.
Najib and his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, left in a special aircraft from the Beijing International Airport this afternoon.
On hand to send them off were Deputy Foreign Minister Datuk Hamzah Zainudin and Malaysian Ambassador to China Datuk Iskandar Sarudin.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the prime minister held bilateral meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Chief Executive C Y Leung and Chinaâ€™s Prime Minister Li Keqiang.
Najib also met Russian President Vladimir Putin and New Zealand Prime Minister John Key.
The two-day AELM themed â€˜Shaping the Future Through Asia-Pacific Partnershipâ€™ was chaired by Xi and attended by leaders from the forumâ€™s 21 member countries. â€“ BERNAMA
