KUALA LUMPUR – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has expressed his condolences to the family of Special Affairs Department (Jasa) director-general Datuk Fuad Hassan who died early today.
“My condolences to the family of Dato Fuad Hassan, Jasa director-general, who has died. May his soul rest in peace. Al Fatihah,” he said in his latest post on his Twitter account.
Fuad died at 12.20 am at the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital in Kuantan where he was admitted yesterday after he fell unconscious. He was 62.
He suffered a heart attack while attending the closing of a retreat of a transformation programme of the Communications and Multimedia Ministry in Kemaman, Terengganu, on Saturday night.
Fuad had held various positions in Selangor Umno Youth as well as the national Umno Youth and was a former state assemblyman for Hulu Klang in Selangor for two terms, from 1990 to 1999. He was appointed the director-general of Jasa in 2009.
Fuad was the elder brother of actor Jalaluddin Hassan and former Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan.
He will be buried at the Muslim cemetery in Taman Bukit Teratai, Ampang, after the ‘zohor’ prayers today. – BERNAMA
