KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak wants an apology and retraction from PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli over his statement linking him (Najib) to alleged abuse involving the Goods and Services Tax (GST).
Najib’s lead counsel Datuk Mohd Hafarizam Harun said he received instructions from the Prime Minister on Tuesday to issue a letter of demand to Rafizi over the statement made at the recent anti-GST rally at Dataran Merdeka.
“It is for implying that the GST money was used to buy textiles,†Mohd Hafarizam told reporters here yesterday after case management for a libel suit for his client.
Mohd Hafarizam said he would serve the letter of demand to Rafizi in due course.
If Rafizi did not abide to their demand, he said, as a follow-up, a civil action for defamation would be instituted against the Pandan MP.
