KUALA LUMPUR – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak congratulated the Kedah team for winning the 2017 FA Cup after they defeated Pahang in the final at the Shah Alam Stadium last night.
He also gave words of encouragement to the team from Pahang, the state of his birth, which gave stiff competition throughout the match.
“I am in Riyadh but I heard last night’s match was very interesting, congratulations to Kedah, champions of #PialaFA2017! As for Pahang, winning and losing is part and parcel of the game, try again next year, ” Najib wrote on his Twitter today.
The prime minister arrived in Riyadh yesterday to begin a three-day working visit, including a summit with Muslim leaders and United States President Donald Trump, on Sunday.
Kedah emerged FA Cup winners for the fourth time after beating Pahang 3-2 in a dramatic final last night.
