PUTRAJAYA – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor hosted a breaking-of-the fast for ulama (religious scholars), professionals and representatives of 106 Islamic non-governmental organisations at his official residence Seri Perdana here tonight.
After the iftar, the prime minister and the guests numbering some 1,000 people performed the Maghrib and Tarawih prayers which were led by guest imam Sheikh Rami Al-Badawi from Syria.
At the event, the prime minister and wife and also presented Aidifitri contributions to 110 orphans, tahfiz students, the elderly and single mothers.
Najib also received a memorandum from the NGOs which stated their support for him to continue leading the country.
Gabungan Pelajar Melayu Semenanjung (GPMS) president Jais Abdul Karim handed over the memorandum on their behalf. – BERNAMA
