PUTRAJAYA – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today joined the congregators at the Masjid Putra for Friday prayers as well as a ‘hajat’ prayer seeking for national prosperity and an end to the haze problem faced by the country.
The Friday prayers and the ‘hajat’ paryers were led by the Imam of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Imam Ali Omar Yacoub Abbasi, while Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom delivered the sermon.
The ‘hajat’ prayers also sought for prosperity for Malaysia and Palestine.
Yesterday, Ali Omar when making a courtesy call on Najib at his official residence at Seri Perdana also recorded his appreciation for the struggle of the Prime Minister in championing the cause of the Palestinians and the Al-Aqsa Mosque all this while including when speaking at the United Nations (UN) General Assembly recently.
He said that not many Muslim leaders had the courage to raise the Palestinian issue and to criticise the Israeli oppression openly as Najib did. – BERNAMA
