TAWAU – Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has arrived here to attend a few programmes in conjunction with a one-day official visit to Sabah.
The Prime Minister and wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor arrived on a special flight at Tawau Airport around 3.45 pm, today.
Accompanying them were Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman, Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan and State Legislative Assembly Speaker Datuk Seri Salleh Tun Said Keruak.
They were met on arrival by Sebatik assemblyman Datuk Abd Muis Picho, Balung assemblyman Datuk Syed Abas Syed Ali, heads of federal and state government departments and agencies, as well as local leaders.
The prime minister is expected to attend a solidarity rally organised by Tawau and Kalabakan UMNO at the town padang.
Najib who is also Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman will also attend a special meeting with Sabah BN component party leaders at a hotel here, before returning to the federal capital.
Earlier in Kota Belud, he officiated at a groundbreaking ceremony for a People’s Housing Project at Kampung Pirasan, about 71 kilometres from Kota Kinabalu city. – BERNAMA
