KRABI (SOUTH THAILAND) – Muslim associations which transcend borders, race, language and skin colour are the key to the strength of the ummah (faithful), said the Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail.
He said Prophet Muhammad himself had always stressed on the unity of Muslims.
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin said this when opening the Multaqa Ummatan Wahidah conference organised by the Perlis Malay Customs and Islamic Religious Council (MAIPs) and the Islamic Affairs Councils (MAI) of six territories of on the Andaman side of Thailand here yesterday.
The six territories are Satun, Trang, Krabi, Phanga, Phuket and Ranong.
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin, who is also MAIPs president further stressed that Islamic administrative policies should also ensure that unity between Muslims and the local communities was maintained.
Also present were Krabi MAI president Asnawi Mukura, Perlis State Secretary Romli Dai and Mohd Faizal Razali, Malaysia’s Consul-General in Songkhla. – BERNAMA
