ALOR SETAR – Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today spent time to visit the site of the Teachers’ Day Festival (FHG) 2015 exhibition in conjunction with the national level Teachers’ Day celebration at Sultan Abdul Halim Stadium here.
Muhyiddin, who officiated the Teachers’ Day celebration at the Wawasan Hall, Jitra this morning, was accompanied by his wife, Puan Sri Norainee Abdul Rahman, Education director-general Datuk Dr Khair Mohamad Yusof and Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir.
He spent about 30 minutes, visiting over 20 booths displaying various educational activity components of various exhibitors from the government agencies, corporate sector and non governmental organisations.
Muhiyiddin also witnessed a performance involving the Stompers, a musical instrument made from discarded items, by 55 Kedah and Perlis College community students who sang a “Happy Birthday’ song to him. He celebrated his 68th birthday yesterday.
FHG 2015, which began last May 14 concluded today and is the biggest education festival which was also filled with various entertainment programmes such as Stompers performance, ‘Mai Jangan Tak Mai’ Pancaindera Mega concert and religious talks. – BERNAMA
