TUMPAT – Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said he was so disappointed that the Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) Science papers 018, 028 and 038 had been leaked, forcing the postponement of the sitting for these papers which is supposed to be today, to Sept 30.
Muhyiddin who is also Education Minister, apologised to the candidates and their parents over the incident.
“I hope this will never happen again as it could upset the students and parents. I feel sad about this and we will overcome it.”
Muhyiddin was speaking to reporters after announcing the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the Pengkalan Kubor state seat by-election, here, Wednesday.
The Malaysian Examination Board in its statement yeterday announced that the three Science papers scheduled for tomorrow were postponed to Sept 30 after the questions were found to have been leaked.
“Whatever it is, I hope the tests for the papers will go on smoothly,” Muhyiddin said.
Former Tumpat district assistant education officer (school management), Mat Razi Mat Ail was named as BN candidate for the by-election.
The Election Commission has fixed Sept 13 for the nomination of candidates and Sept 25 for casting of votes. – Bernama
