A Chinese Muslim revert woman made the best decision in her life when she decided to put on hold her plans to buy household supplies, instead, use up her husband and her savings to start a business.

Now, her iPhone accessories and spare parts business is booming, making between RM2,000 to RM4,000 a day.

Nurul Ain Teh Abdullah, 25, embraced Islam back in November 2015, when she married Helmi Haffizudin Suhaimi, 27.

They used up all their savings which amounted to RM30,000 to start their business, and now the returns in their shop in Jalan Cabang Tiga have soared to almost RM300,000.

“As we were newlyweds, our savings should have gone into buying household items so that we would be living more comfortably in our new lives.

“But we decided to put that on hold first and started our mobile phone spare parts business first. I stayed at my in-laws’ house first,” she told Harian Metro.

According to Nurul Ain, the decision turned out to be the best for the both of them as they received extraordinary support from their customers.

“We received amazing feedback from our customers, and we are now opening two new branches in Rusila, Marang and Gong Badak,” she revealed.

Nurul Ain also confessed that her decision to embrace Islam and marry a Malay guy had its detractors, and it forced her to work really hard to prove she made the right choice and prove everyone wrong.

“After getting married, I quit my job as a cashier in a supermarket in Kuala Lumpur, and moved here (Terengganu) with my husband.

“When I converted and moved here, people said that my life will be difficult and that I will be bound by the rules.

“That became the fire under my belly, and I strived to prove I can make it and change their minds,” said the 25-year-old.

Nurul Ain also added that her ability to speak Cantonese is an added advantage when dealing with suppliers from China.

“My ability to speak Cantonese fluently helped me to get suppliers for the spare parts and the best phone accessories from China, so we can sell it at a good price,” she stated.

Her husband also expressed his pride in his wife’s achievements and her drive in proving to everyone that she made the right move by marrying him.

“In one year, our business has grown so much that we started off with only two staff, but now we have nine staff,” Helmi remarked.

He also expressed confidence in becoming the number one dealer for mobile phone spare parts and accessories in Terengganu.

“We are confident that our strong relationship with dealers from China will help us achieve our dreams,” he said.-mD
