PETALING JAYA – Former leaders of the Malaysian Trades Union Congress (MTUC) today expressed support for the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
Tan Sri Zainal Rampak, a former president of the MTUC, said he believed that Najib had vast experience as a leader since 1978 when he became the deputy minister of energy, telecommunications and posts.
“Najib has held various portfolios and we believe his experience and expertise can enhance the national economy,” he told a news conference which was also attended by former MTUC deputy president Mohd Shafie BP Mammal and former MTUC vice-president Datuk Md Yusof Harmain Shah here.
He said the people should give Najib time to prove his capability and that all former prime ministers must support him.
“I feel that instead of criticising the leadership of Najib openly, it is better to have discussions and offer opinions in private,” he said. – BERNAMA
