BUTTERWORTH- A factory bus driver suffered two broken teeth when he was punched in the face by a motorcyclist yesterday evening.
The incident happened near the Sungai Dua toll plaza at 7.30pm.
The 65-year-old victim had experienced a brake malfunction and crashed into the back of a Honda Civic.
Seberang Prai Utara district police chief Assistant Commissioner Noorzainy Mohd Noor said a motorcyclist punched the victim in the face when he alighted from the bus.
He said the suspect, believed to be passing by the area, then left on his motorcycle.
“The victim could not identify the registration plate,” said Noorzainy.
“He also could not identify the suspect who was wearing a helmet at the time.”
Noorzainy said the incident was not recorded on the toll plaza’s closed-circuit television camera, which was about 300m away and no witnesses had come forward to testify.
“The victim sought outpatient treatment at the Kepala Batas Hospital,” he said.
Investigation is ongoing to track the suspect. The case is being investigated for causing grievous hurt.- New Straits Times
