KUALA LUMPUR – Nationwide as at September this year, 259,882 of 1Malaysia People’s Housing (PR1MA) units have been approved for construction, of which, 141,661 are in various stages of development.
PR1MA Corporation Malaysia chief executive officer Datuk Abdul Mutalib Alias said 8,475 PR1MA units had been completed with 934 keys handed over to the houseowners.
He said 11,944 PR1MA units with a market value of RM3 bililon had been purchased while more than 1.5 million Malaysians had registered with PR1MA; of the number, 166,972 had applied to buy PR1MA homes.
“Most of the PR1MA housing development projects are in Selangor, that is,19 per cent or 48,419 units.
“Many of those in the M40 group prefer to reside in this state as it is a very important economic centre and offers ample employment opportunities. PR1MA is committed in its efforts to provide the necessary housing for them,” he told Bernama.
