PEKAN — National sprint rider, Mohd Harrif Saleh ended his six-year drought for a podium finish after garnering the third place in the fourth stage of Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) 2018, here today.
The TSG rider clocked four hours 10 minutes and 14 seconds to complete 183.8km from Dataran Dewan Merdeka to Dataran Pekan here and emerged as the best Malaysian rider today.
For the record, Mohd Harrif last went up the podium in LTdL 2012 when he was second behind Italian, Andrea Guardini in the eighth stage from Pekan to Chukai over 100.8km.
“I am happy to finally clinch a win after racing for so long at LTdL, even though I thought I could have won race outright today,” he said when met by reporters after the race.
The 2017 SEA Games gold medalist said he would assist the TSG team to claim a position in the fifth stage tomorrow from Bentong to Cameron Highlands over 169.4km. — BERNAMA
