KUALA LUMPUR – The big question mark over the future of Selangor defender Mohd Azrif Nasrulhaq Badrul Hisham has been answered when the Selangor Football Association (FAS) and the Johor Football Association (JFA) agreed on the transfer of the former Harimau Muda player.
Selangor team manager, Amirudin Shari said the FAS had decided to release the player who would join Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) after both parties agreed with the offer made by JDT.
He declined to divulge details of the agreement and the amount of transfer.
“The Selangor team is still discussing on signing a player who has the ability to fill the vacuum left by Mohd Azrif.
“More information on the newcomer will be announced before window period forthe transfer ends (tomorrow),” he said in a statement here today.
Mohd Azrif had demanded FAS to release him to enable him to join JDT. He was also willing to buy out the remainder of his contract with FAS worth RM720,000.
Meanwhile, Amirudin said the Red Giants squad would be strengthened with five players from the President’s Cup squad (Under 21).
They are K. Sarkunan, Mohd Faizzudin Mohd Abidin, A.Namathevan, K.Kannan and Badrul Amin Rusalan. – BERNAMA
