LAHAD DATU – The Lahad Datu Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) has detained 19 Filipino illegal immigrants while trying to exit the country illegally via Tanjung Labian waters yesterday.
MMEA district maritime director Lieutenant Commander Radzil Allexender Raphael said a team of enforcement officers patrolling the area spotted a boat ferrying the illegal immigrants, aged between one and 45, to the Philippines at 3 am.
“All those immigrants, including five women and eight children, did not have valid identification documents,” he said in a statement here today.
He said they case was investigated under the Immigration Act 1959/1963. – BERNAMA
