SIBU – A final year medical student of a private college, reported missing since Saturday, has been found.
Siti Fatimatuzzahrah Bumidin, 25, was found seeking refuge at a mosque in town by her relative about 2pm today.
It was learnt that Fatimatuzzahrah, currently undergoing training at the Sibu Hospital, was under extreme pressure and stress due to her examination, which led to her running away.
The New Straits Times was also told that Fatimatuzzarah, who was living in a rented house in Taman Permai, was still traumatised and refused to speak to anyone including her own relatives.
Sibu district deputy police chief Superintendent Martin Khoo confirmed that the student has been found and that she had no injuries. He also confirmed that there was no foul play in the case. Concerns over her safety arose when her family was unable to reach her, triggering panic.
The situation compelled her housemate to lodge a missing persons report at the Sibu police station on Monday. – NST Online
