KAMPAR – A part-time metal worker was charged in the Magistrate’s Court today with the murder of a woman at the end of last month.
Magistrate Nur Faizah Muhamad Saleh, however, did not record any plea from R. Kupusamy, 54, of Taman Sejahtera Utama.
Kupusamy was charged with the murder of S. Letchumi, 28, at an oil palm plantation behind Taman Permai, Mambang Diawan, near here between 8.30 pm and midnight on Nov 30.
Nur Faizah set Jan 30 next year for the mention of the case pending the receipt of the chemistry, DNA and post-mortem reports prior to the transfer of the case to the Ipoh High Court.
DPP Kenny Onn Kork Chern appeared for the prosecution while Kupusamy was not represented.
Letchumi, of Bandar Baru Kampar, was found dead by members of the public at about 1 pm on Dec 1 with strangulation marks on her neck. – BERNAMA
