KUALA LUMPUR – Mercedes-Benz Malaysia had another record month for passenger cars in May, registering 1,143 units, which was an improvement of more than 100 per cent from the 544 sold during the same period last year.
The luxury marque passenger car sales were spearheaded namely by the C-, E- and S-Class models which recorded 888 units last month, it said in a statement here today.
Main contributors to this figure were the strong sales of the E300 Blue TEC Hybrid launched in January 2015, the C200 and S400L Hybrid.
The compact car family, comprising the new A-, and B-Class, CLA and GLA models, posted total May sales of 254 units with sales led by the continued success of the A-Class.
Currently, the compact cars are touring the country as part of the Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Urban Hunting Campaign.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s record sales in May was preceded by positive sales from January to April 2015. During the first quarter, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia delivered a total of 1,886 units, followed by 932 in April.
“Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is on the road to success. We have had an exceptional start to 2015 and the sales figures recorded are a direct result of our dynamic market strategy,” said President & CEO, Roland S Folger. – BERNAMA
