FANS had hoped to see Spice Girls back on stage to mark 20 years since the release of Wannabe.
But hopes for a reunion tour may have been dashed after Mel C reportedly dropped out of talks.
According to The Sun, Sporty Spice has decided to focus on “a more serious music career” instead of donning her tracksuits and doing high kicks once again.
Victoria Beckham has already ruled herself out being a part of the celebrations.
A source said: “Mel C is out of the reunion for now. She has essentially left the band to focus on a more serious music career.
“She loves the girls but it just didn’t feel right for her to reunite with them at the moment.
“She has other priorities and obviously it was a bit of a problem that Victoria made it clear she wasn’t going to be part of the reunion.”
But all hope may not be lost, as it appears Mel B, Geri Horner and Emma Bunton are still keen on marking the milestone as a trio.
Reports added there were still options for some kind of tour, either with just the three of them or with other singers.
There is also some suggestion of a talent show to recruit two other Spice Girls. Where do we sign up?
The girls have remained pretty coy about plans, but Emma Bunton said of a one-off gig at Wembley: “Wouldn’t that be amazing?
“Fingers crossed. That’s something we’d really love to do.

“We adore each other. There’s so much we’ve been through. I would love to do something.
“I think we’d all quite like to do something, but it really is figuring it out. We all have such different lives. Mel B lives in America. We’ve all got different managers.”
Wannabe was released in 1996 and catapulted the five-piece to global stardom.
