KUALA LUMPUR – Following the catalytic effect delivered by the National Transformation Programme (NTP), the median income of Malaysian households increased from RM4,585 in 2014 to RM5,228 in 2016.
This is due to the introduction of the 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M) by the government to help cushion the public from the impact of increased living cost.
According to the National Transformation Programme’s (NTP) Annual Report 2017 Year in Review, the Government has disbursed a total of RM25.62 billion for BR1M.
BR1M is one of the initiatives under the Cost of Living NKRA or National Key Results Areas under the Government Transformation Programme (GTP).
Among other observations made in the report for the NKRA are:
More than seven million individuals and families received assistance from BR1M since 2012.
A total of RM6.31 billion was disbursed by the government in BR1M to 7.22 million eligible families and individuals in 2017.- BERNAMA
